Announcement that the Conservation Awards Program will again be held in this county was received today by the Morris County Conservation District.
This program is being sponsored by the agricultural committee of the Kansas Bankers Association.  Last year’s “Key Banker” was Jan Oleen, Farmers State Bank in Dwight.  Last year awards were made to the following Morris County persons:  John & Kris Collier – Banker Award; Dean & Marilyn Miller - Windbreak Award; No Recipient – Grassland Award; No Recipient – Wildlife Award and Bill & Jean Hirt – Buffer Award.  All awards will be presented at the District’s 72nd Annual Meeting scheduled for January 28, 2012.
These awards promote the recognition of farmers and ranchers who have completed projects designed to improve environmental quality or conserve natural resources such as soil, water,
